
Suaimhneas says Farewell to Anne
Friday the 3rd February, marked the retirement of Anne Gleeson as Director of Services in Suaimhneas cancer support centre Nenagh.
A large crowd attended the retirement function in the Thatch Restaurant Ballycommon. The event was organised and hosted by the Nenagh Branch of North Tipperary Hospice. MC for the evening was Chairman of the Nenagh Branch Paddy Heffernan who welcomed all present. Catherine Harty who worked with Anne Gleeson thanked her for her many years of dedicated service to the centre and wished her many years of good health in the years to come.
Kay O Donoghue thanked Anne Gleeson for her dedication to and development of the project for the past fourteen years and wished Anne many years of health and happiness for the future. Kay O Donoghue and the O Donoghue family deserve great credit for the many hours and years of dedicated service to the Nenagh Branch and to the Board of North Tipperary Hospice Movement. Kay’s passion and commitment to Suaimhneas and North Tipperary Hospice Board are to be highly commended and which have helped to build Suaimhneas into the Professional service it is today for the people of Nenagh and Surrounding areas.
Paddy Cadell chairman of North Tipperary thanked Paddy Heffernan and the Nenagh Committee for organising the event and thanked them for all their work for North Tipperary Hospice Movement. Paddy thanked Anne Gleeson for her great work for Suaimhneas over the 14 years since the project started and has grown into the excellent service it is today. Paddy Cadell asked all present to remember Deirdre Ryan recently deceased and thanked Deirdre for all her excellent work in Suaimhhneas. Paddy Cadell welcomed the new Director of Services Brigid Ryan Scanlon and wished her the best of luck in the position going forward. Paddy concluded by thanking Michael Gleeson and family and wished Anne Gleeson good wishes for her retirement.
